Little Versailles - Palace in Świerklaniec

The New Castle in Świerklaniec no longer exists, having been demolished during World War II. Using old photographs, we have digitally recreated the complex as it might have looked when the owners, the Donnersmarck family, still lived there.

Our project was built in Unreal Engine 4 and features an interactive digital reconstruction of the palace and the surrounding English gardens.

The palace was built under the supervision of Hector Lefuel, an architect who had also worked on the Louvre palace. The complex in Świerklaniec was often referred to as “Little Versailles”. At present, only ruins, the layout of the lakeside garden, and several sculptures remain at the original site in the Świerklaniec Park. A younger, separate building, The Cavalier’s Palace, still stands nearby and is available for sightseeing.
